TY Fashion Show

Transition Year Fashion Show

Transition years, as part of their environmental studies classes designed and made costumes from waste materials to demonstrate the three key words learned as part of the course, "Reduce", "Reuse" and "Recycle". They really turned on the style when they displayed their creations in a full-scale fashion show with a catwalk, lights and music to accompany each outfit. The audience were enthralled and amazed by the creativity
and imaginative use of common materials such as plastics, paper and metal cans. Our compeer, Rachel Donnelly, gave an excellent running commentary as the models, both male and female, strutted their stuff in front of the judges . Many thanks to Ms. Ann O'Sullivan from the Environmental Department of Waterford Co. Council who presented the prizes and congratulated the students on a fabulous show. Many thanks to Art teacher, Mr Padraic MacCraith.
