Transition Year Work Experience
Transition year students started their year with an induction day under the guidance of the TY Co-ordinator
Ms. Nollaig Sheehan. Part of the induction day included a talk from Dr. Joseph Moynihan on the benefits of Work Experience for the year. He encouraged the students to make informed choices, in as much as possible, with regards to their work experience. He emphasised the impact that Work Experience has on future careers and in particular how it would influence the students in their choice of subjects for Leaving Cert.

Audiences Rock To Transition Year's "Back to the Eighties"
Our Transition Year's production of "Back to the Eighties" was truly a "class act" Audiences was treated to a feast of 80's pop music dance and witty drama with lively eighties hits like, "Man in the Mirror", "Video killed the radio star", Let's hear it for the Boy" plus many more.

TY Activities -Week Beginning 26th September 2016
- Monday: Auditions for musical “Joseph” singers and dancers. Good luck to all.
- Tuesday: CSI Workshop which is always a firm favourite.
- Wednesday: Lunchtime first meeting of the Environmental Club.
- Those interested in BT are reminded again to talk to Ms. Kelleher.
- Successful candidates in School Bank initiative will be announced shortly.
- Dungarvan Credit Union will also be taking names today of those students interested in interviewing for the School Credit Union.
- All students are reminded that Thursday is the deadline for the Lancaster Labs essay competition a great opportunity to get a week's work experience.
U14 Football
The last week saw all our u14 footballers in action in championship as we played St Declan's, Kilmacthomas and De La Salle in the A & B Waterford championships.

Transition Year Students in Irish Language Art Project
A group of Transition Year students (TY4) took part this term in a project involving Waterford County Council's Irish language office and Lismore Castle Arts.

Transition Year Activities – Week beginning Monday, September 19th
- Monday: Credit Union Workshop with a view to setting up a Credit Union in the school.
- Tuesday: 9:00am to 1:00pm Mini-Company Workshop at Park Hotel
- Thursday: Annual trip to Ploughing Championships in Tullamore
- Call Backs for TY Musical “Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”
- Students who are not attending Ploughing Championship are expected to attend school as normal on Thursday.
TY Activities - Monday October 3rd
- Monday 3rd October: GAA Coaching Module.
- Auditions & rehearsals for our school musical “Joseph”
- On Tuesday the Bank of Ireland will be launching the new School Bank. Goal Club meeting at lunchtime. The deadline for the Lancaster Labs essay competition is Tuesday at 3.45.
- Wednesday: Dungarvan Credit Union will be holding interviews for positions in the school Credit Union Club. Environmental club meeting at lunchtime.
- AIB Bank will also be giving a talk on setting up their school bank, so plenty of opportunities for those interested in banking & business.
- BT students are busy working away with the deadline fast approaching.
The mini-companies ae getting under way and the first important event will be the Friary Sale of Work in December.
