As part of their preparation for the Leaving Certificate written exam 6th Year Art students recently travelled to Dublin to view "Becoming", the mid-career retrospective of the work of Alice Maher at the Irish Museum of Modern Art which is temporarily located at the old UCD buildings in Earlsfort terrace.

Maher is one of Ireland's most respected and influential living artists and the exhibition included examples of painting, sculpture, photography and video installations.The students really enjoyed the whole experience. Afterwards it was a short walk across St.Stephen's Green to the National Museum to view the iconic artefacts of Irish Art.
