St. Augustine’s College, "The Friary" is a post-primary Catholic co-educational day school under the trusteeship of the Augustinian Order. Four members of the Augustinian Community are actively involved in the school. An Augustinian approach to education seeks to create a community context in which learning can occur. It is the united effort of our community consisting of members of our Augustinian community, teachers, administration staff, and ancillary staff that makes "The Friary" a great place to learn and to develop. We pride ourselves on the atmosphere of co-operation that exists leading to a wonderful second level experience for our students.
In St. Augustine’s College we believe that we should encourage pupils to give of their best in whatever they do, and in their pursuit both in and out of the classroom. Our school atmosphere is warm and caring, friendly and focused, student-centred and structured. This well structured, yet disciplined approach to education offers our students the opportunity to develop a love for learning which will sustain them into their future life. An Augustinian approach to education also extends to parents. Our work in the school involves a partnership between student and teachers, and a partnership between teachers and parents. Lifelong friendships are created in the College and while pupils and staff may leave the College, the spirit of St. Augustine’s College remains with them forever.
St. Augustine’s College is a family in which we seek to be a community of friends. "Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann muid".
